In August, VAFO undertook a journey to the USA to partake in the largest pet food trade fair in North America, SUPERZOO, which is traditionally held in Las Vegas. For the very first time, attendees could visit us in our own booth, where we presented our innovative products from the heart of Europe. At the centre of interest were our veterinary diets and functional snacks together with our superpremium lines Brit and Carnilove True Fresh.

Another year has passed, and once again we travelled overseas. This time, we set up our own booth, and while it may have been on the smaller side in terms of floor space, it ranked among the top draws thanks to the quality of our products. Visitors to the fair had a unique opportunity to explore the portfolio of our European factories.

Since our last appearance at SUPERZOO, we’ve witnessed the rise of sustainability as a central topic in the global pet food industry. In Europe, we’ve been aware of this trend for a number of years now, but only recently has it begun to take hold in North America. We’re confident, however, that we’re more than ready to address the needs of customers in America who place emphasis on sustainability.

There was much interest in our pet foods made with fresh meat, the flagship of which is our Carnilove True Fresh line for dogs and cats. Our Brit Care superpremium foods, which stand out thanks to unsurpassed quality and a focus on sustainability, also received plenty of attention, as did our functional snacks with vitamins for dogs and cats, which were one of kind at the trade fair. Last but not least, our special line of nutrition for dogs and cats, Brit Veterinary Diets, also generated considerable interest.

In a category all of their own are Freeze Dried snacks, which VAFO added to its portfolio only this year. This type of snack is very successful in the USA, and it’s slowly becoming a standard product, accounting for as much as 70% of local market share. We expect to see a similar trend in Europe in the near future.
