Carry Pet Food, a Vafo Group company specializing in the production of dog chews, has taken a major step towards greater energy independence by joining the Jawory Energy Cooperative. By combining electricity generated from its own photovoltaic installation with energy supplied by local renewable sources, the company now covers nearly 90% of its electricity demand with green energy.
Reliable and predictable energy supplies are essential for maintaining the continuous production of high-quality dog chews. While Carry Pet Food originally aimed to cover its entire electricity demand through its own rooftop solar installation, experience showed that solar energy alone could not provide the level of stability required for uninterrupted operations. Membership in the local energy cooperative enables the company to complement its own generation with a stable, locally sourced supply of renewable electricity.
Today, almost 90% of the plant’s electricity consumption is covered by renewable energy. This significantly reduces the factory’s dependence on external energy market fluctuations while increasing production stability and energy security. At the same time, it supports reliable manufacturing and consistent product deliveries to customers.
For Vafo Group, the project represents another milestone in its long-term sustainability strategy. Investing in locally generated renewable energy not only contributes to the company’s environmental and ESG commitments, but also strengthens the resilience and competitiveness of its manufacturing operations.
